Capture worked in rehearsal and shows black at doors. Nine times in ten it is one row in a privacy database, and it broke because something about the app changed.
Every one of these tools started as a workaround for something that annoyed us on a show. Then the workarounds got good enough to sell.
They look interchangeable in a feature list and are not remotely interchangeable in a rig. One never leaves the GPU; the other crosses a switch you do not control.
Nobody compliments the pixel mapping. They compliment the content, which only looked good because the mapping was right. Here is the problem, and what it takes to solve it on a Mac.
